The role sits within our Health and Biosciences Business Unit, and you’ll play a key role in advancing industrial biotechnology through technical leadership and strategic execution.
We are looking for an experienced Automation & Process Control Technologist for a fixed term contract, to join our team in Dangé-Saint-Romain site.
Where You’ll Make a Difference
Operations & Project Support (70-100%)
- Responsible for resolving day-to-day automation and process control issues (troubleshooting)
- Program / automate plant production and auxiliary processes, both through minor changes and project work, according to expectations (time, quality, cost).
- Implements hardware and software upgrades or updates at the site
- Is in charge of System back-up / save plan and System Security in collaboration with Informatic Technology (IT) team
- Drive functional analysis design of specific changes or project, as a plant/project active team member in collaboration with project and process engineers
- Prepare and realize qualification phases of System devices / Automation part of major projects (Hard/Software): I/O tests, FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up
- Provide after-project automation support as a key plant reference
- Monitor System state (Hard/Software) on a regular basis to maintain primary control health
- Update documentation related to automation and process control at the site (e.g. functional descriptions, ISO procedures, automation manuals, safety procedures related to Automation, System architecture, I/Os list, electrical cabinet configuration...).
- Provide advice, training and assistance to System Users (from Operators to Production leader & Process engineers)
Continuous improvement at the site (0-30%)
- Understand production processes and equipment, propose and implement improvement solutions on production units through automation & process control with impact on costs, safety, and robustness
- Is proactive in Instrumentation technology and best practices in link, in order to solve issues / improve Control management through field hardware
- Is willing to deploy standards and best practices in respect of A&PC leadership strategy
- Is pro-active regarding improvements in the field of Process Safety Management (safety alarms, interlocks, etc.). Can be responsible of some elements within local PSM team
- Implements digitalization efforts at the sites in regard to prioritized initiatives
What Makes You the Right Fit
- Bachelor or master (engineer) degree - or equivalent - in the field of Industrial Automation & IT is preferred.
- 1 - 3 years automation experience required - preferably in Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Food Industries
- Knowledge & hands on Control Command applications: PLC’s (PCS7 Siemens, Studio 5000 Rockwell, etc.) and SCADA (AVEVA, WinCC, etc.)
- Interest / experience in project work related to automation (functional description, IO, FAT, SAT, commissioning, etc..)
- Interest / experience in SQL database
- Good experience & skills on logics development. (ST, Ladder, FBD)
- Interest /experience in electrical & instrumentation design as well as in control loop design
- Knowledge on ISA-88, ISA-95 implementation as well as Batch recipe management is a plus
- First electrical safety certification level is a plus. Will be provided by the company if not.
- Fluent in French and notion in English is mandatory
