Automation Platform Engineer

What does a successful Automation Platform Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will join a highly skilled team of engineers enabling internal automation developers, network, and security engineers to create automation to fulfill their needs. You will be adding capabilities, improving performance, and maintaining security posture of the environment.

What you will do:

• Manage a fleet of servers while monitoring and preventing abnormal behaviors
• Engage with internal customers to help drive their automation projects and help find solutions to their issues
• Manage one or more application layers and provide both regular upgrades and expansion of its capabilities
• Propose and make technical decisions while documenting best practices for the platform environment
• Work with product owners of the platforms to build new capabilities based on customer requests

What you will need to have:

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience in a Linux environment
• 5+ years of experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Bash, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies (docker, podman, or similar tools)
• 3+ years of experience with open-source platforms such as Grafana, InfluxDB, Telegraf
• 3+ years of experience with computer networking, security networking, and application performance (load balancing)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Prior experience with network automation and security platforms such as Nautobot, HashiCorp Vault, Rundeck
• Ability to operate and find solutions independently while also interacting with product owners and other internal users on a daily basis
• Ability to focus and deliver on customer needs

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
