The Automation Engineer /MI trainee will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of industrial automation and digital solutions, including AI‑enabled and data‑driven systems, under the guidance of supervisor and senior engineers.
The role is designed to build a strong foundation in automation engineering, digital technologies, and responsible use of Generative AI, while operating within defined safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
- Be trained on Good Manufacturing Practices and adherence on consistent safe work practices
- Participate in training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to be equipped with technical knowledge
- Be exposed to various Automation/Digital MES systems and have sound working knowledge
- Assist in exploring use cases for AI and analytics in Automation
- Learn fundamentals of data flow, access controls, and system security in automated environments.
- Support ongoing changes, maintenance and optimization of Automation/Digital MES systems.
- Support preparation and periodic review of technical documentation
- Identify opportunities for improvements, standardization and digitalization.
- Qualification and testing of changes in Automation logic, systems, and equipment.
- Contribute to project milestones, learn and apply basic team effectiveness skills within the team.
- Be empowered to make decisions to resolve basic problems with limited options and decision-making authority, under supervisor's direction.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience
- Basic understanding of control systems concepts (PCS, PLC)
- Experience, curiosity and openness to working with common AI tools, including generative technologies to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills to meet project task deadlines effectively
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with automated systems and equipment
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry engineering
- Familiarity with Preventive Maintenance Procedures for process control systems
- Ability to monitor issues and develop preventative solutions
- Experience with manufacturing information systems
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
