What this role is about:
- Monitor Automated Systems using a computer.
- Troubleshoot the automation system using various PLC programs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot HMI Systems, making adjustments or modifications as needed.
- Perform checks and calibration of plant floor equipment.
- Determine and follow quality and safety requirements from a design perspective; based on current standards and best design practices and in accordance with Agropur’s needs.
- Receive guidance on technical issues from Automation Technicians, Automation Supervisor and Automation Manager.
- Take direction on assignments and then work autonomously or with appropriate team(s) to accomplish assignment objectives.
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Technical Degree Electrical Technology program as a candidate for graduation.
- No experience required; in-house training provided.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.

Skills Required
- Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Technical Degree Electrical Technology program
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, including redlining schematics
- Experience wiring electrical control panels and equipment remote actuators, inputs and outputs, and plumbing, pneumatic and/or hydraulic lines
- Experience planning, selecting, testing, installing and maintaining equipment and systems
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt quickly, and think independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Follow safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices, and correct or report hazards
- Successfully pass any assessments or tests required to work within the Automation department
