As an Automation Intern, you won’t just observe, you’ll contribute meaningfully to real-world projects that support the design and construction of advanced facilities for clients in the life sciences and food & beverage industries. As a leader in the AEC industry, CRB delivers integrated solutions that bring these facilities to life, and our internship program is designed to immerse you in that process. You’ll gain hands-on experience with automation technologies such as PLCs, SCADA systems, and process controls, collaborate across disciplines, and bring fresh ideas to the table — all while building lasting relationships and experiencing our dynamic, people-first culture.     Responsibilities 

    • Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards. 
    • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
    • Coordinating with other disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
    • Strong interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industries
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, contractors)
    • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications
    • Willingness to relocate or work in one of CRB’s internship locations, which may include:
      Kansas City (MO), Raleigh (NC), Orange County (CA), Philadelphia (PA), St. Louis (MO), Boston (MA), San Diego (CA), Kalamazoo (MI), Denver (CO), and/or Rockville (MD)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
    • Familiarity with Engineering Software Application including computer aided drafting, process modeling and calculations programs
    • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
    • Prior internship or co-op experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
