Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Expert to join our team, bringing a strong background in industrial automation, communication protocols, networking, and programming. This individual will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions aimed at improving industrial operations. Additionally, the Automation Expert will collaborate closely with Asset Management (AM) and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of automated systems.

Principal accountabilities

• Repair drive inverters
• Design, develop, and maintain industrial automation solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols.
• Implement and manage industrial networks and telecommunications.
• Configure and maintain MikroTik devices and networking solutions.
• Develop automation and control solutions using various programming languages.
• Work with automation and supervision software for system monitoring and control.
• Integrate cloud solutions and infrastructure tools for industrial automation.
• Manage and optimize database solutions for automation systems.
• Ensure security and access control measures for production and networking environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless automation workflows.
• Provide technical documentation and training for internal teams.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance for the GPS system on mobile equipment and RTGs.

Critical Skills

• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, experience in programming Siemens PLCs and SCADA systems, i.e. S7-300, S7-400, Simens HMI (WinCC Flexible), Siemens PC Systems (WinCC Advanced, WinCC 7.x or higher version) is a must.
• Industrial Protocols and Communication: OPC UA, MQTT, PROFIBUS PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, BACnet, DNP3, CANopen, EtherCAT, CAN bus, TCP/IP, OAuth 2.0API Keys
• Industrial Networks and Telecommunications: WIFI, LTE / 4G, Private Networks (Private LTE, 5G), Industrial Ethernet Networks
• MikroTik Devices and Configuration: MikroTik RouterOS, MikroTik RouterBoard, MikroTik hAP series, MikroTik CCR (Cloud Core Routers), MikroTik CRS (Cloud Router Switch), MikroTik SXT (Point-to-Point devices), MikroTik RB series (RouterBoard series), MikroTik Dude (Monitoring tool)
• Programming Languages: Python, C / C++ / C#, Visual Basic Scripting, JavaScript, React, Node.js (with MQTT, WebSockets, and GraphQL)
• Automation and Supervision Software: WinCC Explorer, Ignition, Step7, TIA Portal, Mosquitto (MQTT Broker), Postman, API Gateway
• Cloud and Infrastructure Tools: Microsoft Azure IoT Suite, Grafana & Prometheus, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Database Management and Big Data Solutions: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server

Who we are looking for

• Requires a Bac +2 and additional vocational/technical education – diploma in Automation and electronics. (Any additional training in PLC/ SCADA/ Electrical fields in any heavy industries is a plus).
• 1 to 3 years relevant work experience in an industrial machinery environment - marine port terminal preferred.
• Requires advanced verbal and written communication skills in English
• Requires advanced verbal and written communication skills in Spanish
• Ability to manage time and projects.
