What You'll Do
- Lead automation projects from design through commissioning.
- Develop and program PLC, HMI, DCS, and instrumentation solutions.
- Define automation scope, specifications, and system architecture.
- Partner with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and field teams.
- Support FATs, SATs, startup, troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Manage schedules, resources, and project costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of automation engineering experience.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, DeltaV, and/or Siemens platforms.
- Strong PLC programming, controls design, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to develop solutions from process requirements and P&IDs.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
Bonus Points
- Biopharma or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- cGMP and GAMP 5 knowledge.
- FAT/SAT and commissioning experience.

Position Summary:
The Automation Engineer utilizes independent judgment to perform the day-to-day project duties of designing, developing and releasing deliverables used in the fabrication of equipment for pilot and commercial scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing (primarily piping assemblies for fluid & gas handling and motorized agitation systems). Primary responsibility involves generating design plans. This position requires a high level of attention to detail along with the ability to develop a strong understanding of Bioprocessing Equipment design standards.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline or equivalent automation experience.
- 5+ years current automation systems experience.
- Proficient with Allen-Bradley, Delta V, or Siemens platforms.
- Experience programming PLC, OIT, HMI, DCS controllers and smart instruments.
- Experience with automation and control systems design, development, and programming from scope and P&ID framework.
- English language proficiency, both written and oral.
- Detail oriented with understanding of programming standards and debugging/simulation processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task across functional groups.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Limited travel required (not expected to exceed 20%); international travel possible.
- cGMP and GAMP 5 experience in Bio-Pharm or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Awareness of and prior experience with Continuous Improvement (CI).
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience.
