About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer with over 3 years of hands-on professional experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, program, commission, and troubleshoot advanced industrial control systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong experience with Siemens PLC systems and a good knowledge of industrial networking. Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms and low-voltage electrical/drive systems is highly desirable and will set you apart.
Key Responsibilities
This is a professional, permanent on-site role located at our facility. The core responsibilities include:
PLC/HMI Programming: Design, develop, and implement control methodologies using Siemens S7 Step 7 and TIA Portal. Develop robust HMI/SCADA applications using WinCC.
Network Architecture: Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot industrial networks, including Profinet, Profibus DP, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP/IP.
Network Infrastructure: Manage and configure industrial network switches to ensure secure, reliable data flow across the plant floor.
Commissioning & Support: Lead or assist in the on-site testing, commissioning, and debugging of automated systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
Cross-Platform Integration: (Where applicable) Support and integrate legacy or parallel systems using Rockwell Automation platforms.
Collaboration: Work closely with electrical designers, project managers, and clients to deliver projects on time and within specification.
Required
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of proven professional experience as an Automation/Controls Engineer in an industrial environment.
Siemens Expertise: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Siemens S7-300/400/1200/1500 systems, TIA Portal, and WinCC (SCADA/Advanced/Comfort).
Preferred Qualifications (Plus Factors)
Rockwell Automation: Hands-on experience with Rockwell Logix systems (Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000), FactoryTalk View SE (Distributed), and the broader FactoryTalk automation platform.
Electrical Systems: Good working knowledge of low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, control panel design, and schematic reading.
Drive Systems: Experience configuring and tuning Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servo systems (e.g., Siemens Sinamics, Allen-Bradley PowerFlex).
Industrial Networking: Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols: Profinet, Profibus DP, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP/IP.
Hardware Networking: Practical experience with industrial network switching, VLAN configuration, and network topology design.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex automation loops.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent verified field experience).
