What you will be doing:
- Design, develop, and implement new automation components and scripts.
- Conduct proactive administration and maintenance of managed systems, adhering to change control protocol.
- Manage the full lifecycle of all automation components.
- Lead research and prototyping efforts for new automation concepts.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system lifecycle documentation.
- Analyse requirements and provide detailed reports for assigned projects/tasks.
- Maintain effective communication, manage assigned work efficiently, and commit to continuous learning.
- Provide training on automation technologies and assist with other assigned duties.
What our client is looking for:
- A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.)
- 3+ years experience maintaining and troubleshooting Linux Distributions and MS Window Server (2012+).
- Expertise in platforms like Ansible or Aria Automation (VRO), Chef, Puppet, Terraform.
- Expert proficiency in languages such as PowerShell, Python, Javascript, and/or Bash.
- Familiarity with VMWare PowerCLI and a solid understanding of core concepts (Clusters, DRS, Distributed Switches, vMotion).
- Working knowledge of Active Directory (GPOs, permissions), DHCP, and DNS.
- Familiarity with systems like NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and SMB.
- Strong understanding of mid to enterprise-scale data center topologies.
- Demonstrated ability to apply complex problem-solving techniques.
- Reasonable understanding of Azure, AWS, Containers, and Kubernetes basics.
- Moderate experience with common platforms (e.g., Service Now).
- Advanced Aria/VRO automation, Deep Cloud/Container knowledge, and advanced Operating/Storage Systems (Windows/Linux, NetApp/Pure) would be beneficial.
