You will innovate with efficient test automation written in multi-language framework and Python as core, in a virtualized, micro-services oriented, container-based system architecture. Always continue learning, developing in-depth technology skills and leadership: System and network virtualization (Containers, SDN, NFV), Python, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced IP Routing – Segment Routing, SRv6, BGP, EVPN and more.
Explore and implement AI-powered testing tools and techniques to enhance test automation, efficiency, and coverage
Leverage AI to develop Automated tests using AI/ML tools, Gen-AI, leading to faster and more efficient testing
Trouble shoot customer and Internal reported issues: identify root cause, diagnose, debug document and help in faster resolution
Work in an agile development environment and participate in sprint activities to plan and produce rapid cycle, high quality deliverables, co-ordinate activities across scrums

Ciena packet software and hardware technologies are deployed in Global Networks, Private and Public Cloud Solutions, 5G, and SD-WAN
Influence design of market-leading products as the network infrastructure transitions to 5G, Edge cloud and disaggregated cloud architectures
Must Haves:
Requires hands-on in-depth knowledge with scripting in Python, Linux shell, git and pytest
Understanding and applications of Object-Oriented Programming, algorithms and data structures
Experience in developing Automated tests using AI, Gen-AI, AI/ML tools is desired
Understanding and Experience in testing IP Routing Protocols like BGP, ISIS, OSPF, L3VPN, EVPN, IPv6 is desired
Understanding of AI, machine learning, and related concepts is important
Knowledge of TCP-IP and Linux OS is desired
Excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to absorb, germinate, and evolve new ideas in collaboration with other contributors, effectively able to collaborate with diverse teams
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related discipline
Pay Range:
The salary range for this role is $74, 500 - $119, 100
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
