Automation Engineer

• You will develop and program automation logic using Valmet DNA/MCS application engineering solutions, ensuring systems meet project and customer requirements. [
• You will partner with Chief Engineers and project teams to plan software engineering scope, align delivery with contract requirements, and support successful project execution.
• You will collaborate with design, development, production, and site teams to achieve delivery milestones, maintain quality standards, and manage project risks.
• You will support pre-assemblies, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), installation, commissioning, I/O checks, functional testing, and start-up activities at customer sites.
• You will troubleshoot, modify, and optimize software and hardware applications, maintain project documentation, uphold site safety standards, and contribute to customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• You bring 4-7 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within pulp, paper, board, packaging, or related process industries.
• You have hands-on experience with PLC/DCS systems such as Siemens, ABB, Allen-Bradley, or Valmet DNA, including control logic development, testing, troubleshooting, and project execution.
• You can read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, control drawings, and understand industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and OPC.
• You have strong English communication skills and are willing to travel to customer sites within India and internationally for extended project assignments.

You will join the PAC Machines AE India Engineering team, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering professionals on automation projects for the pulp, paper, and packaging industries. The team is involved throughout the project lifecycle, covering system design, software development, testing, commissioning, customer start-ups, quality assurance, risk management, and project delivery. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts across functions and geographies while building deep technical expertise in advanced industrial automation solutions. The role offers exposure to customer-facing projects, international teamwork, and challenging engineering assignments that support operational excellence and customer success.
