In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your skills by applying basic design thinking/design best practices concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the machine automation within ABB's Automation division in Pune/Ahmedabad-India region. Main stakeholders include Customers, Application Engineers, Sales Teams, Engineering Teams, Global Product Support/HQ Teams, Training Participants, Project Teams, and OEM/Manufacturing Customers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and application engineers, resolving product, software, and application-related issues through remote support channels.
Identifying and diagnosing automation system challenges, delivering timely solutions to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Building and maintaining positive customer relationships by facilitating effective communication and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Planning and executing technical support activities, including issue escalation, problem resolution, and collaboration with global teams to implement innovative solutions and best practices.
Developing skills in automation products and real-time software applications while supporting knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Delivering technical training and application engineering support, including software development, commissioning, documentation, and reporting of technical activities
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline).
1-5 years of experience in application development, commissioning, and technical support within industrial automation environments, with experience in multinational organizations.
Solid knowledge of Industrial Automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives, Motion Control, Motors, Robotics, and integrated machine automation solutions.
Practical experience in application engineering, problem solving, customer support, commissioning, and deployment of automation solutions.
Good understanding of control theory, structured programming, and software development practices, with proficiency in C/ST programming preferred.
Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and applied mathematics, with experience supporting industries such as Food & Beverage (F&B), CPG, and Consumer Goods.
Excellent communication, customer engagement, and training skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and customer-focused environments.
