The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Automation Engineer – Supply Chain, you will design, build, and maintain RPA bots and intelligent automation workflows that streamline manual, repetitive, and rules-based processes across Supply Chain functions. You will develop scalable, reliable automations using platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate, spanning process discovery, bot design and development, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring and support.
In this role, you will build and maintain automation bots and workflows across enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft applications, integrate with APIs and enterprise data sources, apply exception handling and orchestration best practices, and implement monitoring, governance, and change-control frameworks to deliver secure, reliable, and production-ready automation solutions.
You will collaborate with Business Analysts, Process Owners, IT Application Teams, Software Engineers, Product Teams, and Supply Chain stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions that reduce manual effort, improve process accuracy, and deliver measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- RPA & Process Automation Development
Design, build, and optimize RPA bots and automated workflows using platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Power Automate by conducting process discovery and documentation, building reusable components and libraries, integrating with enterprise applications and APIs, and applying coding and design best practices to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready automation solutions.
- Automation Testing & Deployment
Design, implement, and manage end-to-end automation testing and deployment pipelines, including unit and regression testing of bots, version control, CI/CD for automation packages, environment promotion (dev/test/production), exception and error handling, scheduling and orchestration, and post-deployment hypercare support.
- Orchestration, Governance & Monitoring
Manage bot orchestration, scheduling, and queue management using RPA control room/orchestrator tools; maintain a centralized automation pipeline and reusable component library; implement credential and access management, audit logging, and change-control processes; and monitor bot health, run success rates, exceptions, and performance using dashboards and alerting to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant production automation.
- Collaboration & Engineering Excellence
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Process Owners, IT Application Teams, Software Engineers, Product Teams, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready automation solutions while driving engineering best practices across process design, bot development, testing, deployment, governance, documentation, and operational excellence.
Skills and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of professional experience in RPA development, business process automation, or software engineering, or a master’s degree with relevant industry experience and 2+ years of experience.
- Strong proficiency of 4years in at least one RPA platform (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate) with hands-on experience building, testing, and deploying production-grade bots and automated workflows.
- Proficiency in Python, VBScript , Shell script along with SQL, for scripting custom automation logic, data extraction, and integration with enterprise systems and APIs.
- Experience conducting process discovery and assessment, including process mapping (PDD/SDD documentation), identifying automation candidates, and evaluating feasibility and ROI.
- Experience implementing automation lifecycle management practices including version control, CI/CD for bots, environment promotion, testing (unit/regression), monitoring, and change management.
- Experience integrating automations with enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Office/365, and web-based systems, using APIs, screen scraping, and OCR/document understanding tools where needed.
- Experience using an RPA orchestrator/control room for bot scheduling, queue management, exception handling, and monitoring bot performance, run success rates, and operational reliability.
Additional Qualifications That Could Help You Succeed
- Experience with intelligent automation technologies such as OCR, document understanding, chatbots, or machine learning models embedded within RPA workflows to handle unstructured or semi-structured data.
- Strong understanding of enterprise process and IT architectures including ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), workflow/BPM tools, ticketing systems, and data governance practices relevant to automation.
- Knowledge of automation governance, security, access management, and enterprise IT compliance practices, including handling of sensitive or regulated data within bots.
- Experience leading RPA or automation initiatives, mentoring junior developers, driving automation development standards, and delivering scalable enterprise automation programs. RPA certification (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) is a plus.
