In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of automation frameworks and solutions that improve product quality, system reliability, and engineering efficiency. You will collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, DevOps, product teams, and QA to drive best-in-class automation practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and/or mobile applications
- Lead automation strategy, including tool selection, architecture, and implementation standards
- Build and execute automated test suites to validate functionality, performance, and reliability
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testability, observability, and quality standards
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues
- Mentor junior engineers and promote automation best practices and coding standards
- Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve automation capabilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar
- Hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., RestAssured, Postman, Karate)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git)
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Background in performance or load testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)
- Experience implementing BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
- Familiarity with security testing practices
- Previous experience in a lead or mentorship role
