THE ROLE
We are looking for an Automation Engineer to identify, design, and deliver automations that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency across the company.
You will work across business and technical teams to understand existing processes, redesign workflows, and implement scalable automations using low-code/no-code and integration platforms. Solutions may include workflow orchestration, robotic process automation (RPA), API integrations, event-driven automation, and selective use of AI models where they create measurable value.
This role combines process analysis, system integration, automation development, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and implement end-to-end workflows using platforms such as:
  • Workato
  • Microsoft Power Automate
  • Additional integration and automation technologies where appropriate.
  • Build seamless integrations between SaaS platforms, cloud databases, and internal systems using APIs, JSON data transformation, and webhooks.
  • Develop RPA solutions for processes that cannot be integrated directly through APIs.
  • Introduce intelligent, AI-enabled steps into workflows (utilizing pre-built Gemini, Copilot, or internal LLM endpoints) for tasks like text classification, summarization, data extraction, and document processing.
  • Create reusable automation components, custom connectors, templates, and standards to accelerate pipeline delivery.
  • Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot cloud flows, and optimize workflows to improve scalability and maintainability.
  • Document automated solutions and operational procedures clearly.
  • Establish governance and best practices around automation.
  • Evaluate new automation technologies and continuously improve the automation landscape.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience: 3+ years delivering production-grade cloud workflow automation and systems integration.
  • Platform Mastery: Hands-on expertise with Workato and/or Power Automate Cloud is mandatory.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, data payloads (JSON/XML), and authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys).
  • Architectural Mindset: Deeply familiar with event-driven architectures and modern system integration patterns.
  • AI Familiarity: Practical knowledge of how to format structured prompts and handle API inputs/outputs with LLMs inside a workflow step.
  • Hybrid Coding Skills: You don't need to build software from scratch, but you should be completely comfortable writing a few lines of Python or JavaScript to clean up data arrays, parse JSON, and handle tricky workflow logic.
  • Execution & Pragmatism: Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A builder who thrives on automation where it creates value, not for automation’s sake.

REWARDS & BENEFITS

  • Health insurance for the whole family, flexible working environment and well-being support and tools
  • Extra days off, sabbatical program and days for you to give back for the community
  • Training opportunities and free access to Udemy
  • Flexible benefits programme.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES STATEMENT

  • Farfetch is an equal opportunities employer ensuring that all applicants are treated equally and fairly throughout our recruitment process. We are determined that no applicant experiences discrimination on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, age, gender identity, ancestry, sexual orientation, veteran status, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.

Skills Required

  • 3+ years delivering production-grade cloud workflow automation and systems integration
  • Hands-on expertise with Workato and/or Power Automate Cloud
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON/XML payloads, and authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and modern system integration patterns
  • Practical knowledge of integrating LLMs (Gemini, Copilot, or internal endpoints) into workflows, including prompt formatting and I/O handling
  • Ability to write Python or JavaScript to manipulate data, parse JSON, and handle workflow logic
  • Experience building RPA solutions for processes without direct API integration
  • Experience creating reusable automation components, custom connectors, templates, and standards
  • Experience monitoring automation performance, troubleshooting cloud flows, and optimizing workflows for scalability and maintainability
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
