As an Automation Engineer (SEO), you will play a critical role in helping a growing digital marketing agency scale its SEO and marketing operations through automation, AI, and systems thinking. You'll work closely with leadership to design and implement technical solutions that reduce manual effort, improve execution speed, and create operational leverage across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, building systems from the ground up, and leveraging modern technologies to streamline complex workflows. Rather than functioning as a traditional SEO specialist focused on rankings and campaign execution, you'll act as a technical operations partner who develops the infrastructure, automations, and AI-enabled workflows that make large-scale marketing execution possible.

Your success as an Automation Engineer (SEO) will be defined by your ability to design scalable systems, automate repetitive processes, and transform operational challenges into efficient technical solutions.

Here's how you'll make an impact: 

• Design and implement automation workflows that reduce manual operational effort across SEO and marketing functions.
• Build repeatable systems that support scalable marketing execution.
• Automate data collection, processing, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process redesign.
• Develop systems that increase execution capacity while reducing operational complexity.

• Utilize AI tools such as Claude, Codex, ChatGPT, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency.
• Design AI-assisted workflows that accelerate execution and decision-making.
• Develop scalable systems that integrate AI into day-to-day operations.
• Identify opportunities to enhance existing workflows through AI adoption.
• Experiment with new approaches that leverage agentic and AI-enabled capabilities.

• Work with APIs to connect internal and external platforms.
• Build and maintain integrations across multiple software systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain the reliability of automation workflows.
• Develop structured data flows that support operational objectives.
• Ensure systems remain scalable, maintainable, and effective as the business grows.

• Build and maintain web scraping solutions that support operational initiatives.
• Develop browser automation workflows to streamline execution.
• Extract, clean, and organize data from multiple sources.
• Monitor automation performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Improve the reliability and scalability of data collection processes.

• Translate ambiguous business requirements into structured technical solutions.
• Independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing initiatives.
• Recommend improvements to automation strategies and technical processes.
• Act as a trusted technical problem solver across operational challenges.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that drive measurable impact.

You'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify operational bottlenecks, implement scalable solutions, and improve the efficiency of marketing execution.

As an Automation Engineer (SEO), your vertical focus will be on automation engineering, technical operations, and AI-enabled systems design, while your horizontal focus will include problem-solving, process optimization, stakeholder communication, and continuous learning. 

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: 3–6+ years of experience in automation engineering, technical operations, solutions engineering, workflow automation, systems implementation, or similar technically focused environments.
• Technical Fluency: Hands-on experience working with APIs, Git and GitHub, browser automation tools, web scraping solutions, and structured data workflows.
• SQL Knowledge: Strong understanding of SQL fundamentals and experience working with data to support operational decision-making.
• AI & Automation: Active use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or similar technologies, with experience designing AI-assisted workflows and identifying automation opportunities.
• Systems Thinking: Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable, structured solutions that improve execution and efficiency.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical reasoning, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Ownership & Execution: High levels of agency, self-management, and accountability, with the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Adaptability: Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and ambiguity is common.

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us.
