We are currently looking for a highly motivated Automation Engineer (M/F/D) to join our Industrialization team in Meiningen, Germany or Gdynia, Poland. Principle duties and essential functions

In this job position the experienced engineer will be responsible for the design and development of automated manufacturing systems.  This person will be responsible for some or all phases of system development and maintenance during the whole system life cycle.

Design Tasks:

  • Generate design concepts for industrial solutions and work directly with system end users doing so 

  • Document the design concept and propose HW/SW implementation toolset

  • Design and document the HW/SW components during development phase

  • Keep the documentation up to date during complete system life cycle

Development and Deployment Tasks:

  • Work independently as well as team member on both SW and HW development tasks

  • Ensure that the production system meets the design specifications as well as customer needs

  • Work with production and test engineering during deployment of the system into factory environment

Sustaining Tasks:

  • Work with remote contract manufacturer as well as local manufacturing to resolve any issues that may arise

  • Keep the expertise and tools gained during development to be capable of fast and effective support

  • Keep track of current system condition as well as current and planned utilization

  • Gather end-user feedback and use it to improve deployed system

Creative Activity:

  • Descriptions of manufacturing automation concepts

  • Designing of robotic/automation system components

  • PCBA design, both schematics and layout

  • Creation of a technical documentation including specifications and user manuals

  • Development of software packages and scripts

  • Implementation and configuration of production system software

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Manufacturing background with automated production/test systems

  • Ability to read and understand hardware circuit schematics, CAD files and technical documentation

  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, simple circuit design is preferred

  • Knowledge of 3D printing technology and simple 3D design is preferred

  • Knowledge of PLC and robotic HW architecture is preferred

  • Must be above entry level coder and understand programming concepts

  • Knowledge of any of(C#, Python, Java) is preferred

  • Knowledge of PLC programming and Robots programming is preferred

  • Good written and spoken English skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
