Automation Analysts are responsible for creating scripts in accordance with requirements requested by Implementation Specialists/Consultants and customers directly. They are also responsible for identifying areas for automation and working on those automation projects. Activities include: writing scripts that provide exports for third party systems, managing and providing regular updates on the progress of requests, consulting on best practice design, maintenance of and adherence to standard scripts, developing automation to simply existing processes.
Responsibilities
- Understand the business requirements outlined in each request to create the most optimal solution
- Configure the product to meet the complex needs and requirements of the customer (using Java, Python, JSON, Groovy, Jenkins, GitHub etc.)
- Collaborate with project managers and customers to ensure SLAs are met and quality of configuration is maintained
- Assist the project managers to gather requirements and consult with customers on the most optimal solution when required
- Mentor other analysts and assist them with solution design and troubleshooting
- Use case tracking systems to track and manage requests
- Provide excellent customer service to customers by phone, email and Salesforce
- Acquire technical product knowledge through training, self-directed research and testing, and internal consultation
- Test completed configuration to ensure solutions meet the original request
- Proactively provide updates to project managers and follow up with customers where needed on active requests
- Adhere to department standards for script writing and specifications as defined
- Work with the PM and customers to gather specifications if they are missing or incomplete
- Run Git commands to save scripts in GitHub directly
- Run basic Linux and Windows commands to copy files, move them, or list
Experience
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service, support, web design/development or related role
- 2+ years’ experience using Python and SQL 1+ year of experience in Groovy/Java
- 1+ year experience with bash commands
- 1+ year experience with Git commands and GitHub
- 1+ year experience with Desktop applications
- Preferred:
- Experience supporting software applications
- Knowledge of enterprise-level financial applications
- Experience using Putty, WinSCP, Agent-Ransack
- Experience coding using Groovy Experience using JIRA
- Experience using JSON, YAML, XML format files Experience using Salesforce
