As an HMI Developer, you will work alongside an experienced team of controls engineer to design advanced control systems for the metals industry. What you’ll do
- Work with both controls engineers and project engineers to develop specifications for the HMI/SCADA (Human Machine Interface/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) specifications
- Prepare screen mock-ups and create framework designs
- Develop clear and eye-catching operator interface screens
- Design a robust and scalable architecture within the SCADA/HMI platform
- Perform SCADA/HMI Programming
- Interface with PLC control systems, database applications (SQL Server) and other data sources
- Conduct testing with project teams in simulated environments staged in the office
- Assist with site commissioning and installation
- Service existing systems as required
- Travel throughout the NAFTA required
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience a must have
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with WinCC, Ignition, or other HMI platforms is an asset but not required
- Experience with Virtual Machines and IT/Networking is a plus, but not required
- Aptitude or interest for programming (scripting, C++, VBA, or other similar language)
