Since 2020, Flexport's Automation Engineering team (formerly the Low Code team) has used tools like Retool, n8n, Python/Streamlit, and Apps Script to automate the "long tail" of operational complexity across Customs — delivering millions of dollars in ROI. As Flexport moves upmarket, more clients need custom integrations to onboard successfully, and this is the team that builds those solutions quickly and pragmatically.
The OpportunityYou'll build the integrations and automations that let Flexport's customs clients onboard quickly and smoothly. Partnering closely with Customs Business Development, brokerage operations, and client teams, you'll turn business requirements into working solutions — from API/EDI data flows to bespoke automations — for some of Flexport's largest and most complex accounts, many of them migrating from competitors with a high bar from day one. It's high-impact, high-visibility work on a small team that ships fast and sees its ROI directly.

- Working proficiency in JavaScript or Python for data transformation, business logic, and dynamic queries.

- Familiarity with Git-based version control and feature branching (e.g., GitHub).
- Low-code/workflow tools (Retool, n8n) and EDI/integration exposure are a plus.
