The Role

Job Description:

Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, quality, and scalability. Serves as the team's subject matter expert for automation technologies, AI adoption, and test automation, helping identify opportunities to reduce manual effort while ensuring automation investments deliver measurable business value.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the team's primary subject matter expert for automation technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize automation solutions to streamline business and IT processes.
  • Assess existing Power Automate solutions and convert or migrate them to Amazon Quick Automate or other suitable automation platforms where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify repetitive, manual activities that can be automated through backend automation solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops with business teams to analyze current processes, identify automation opportunities, and define automation roadmaps.
  • Evaluate automation opportunities by balancing implementation and maintenance effort against expected benefits, such as time savings, quality improvements, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
  • Provide clear recommendations and confidently challenge automation requests when the expected business value does not justify the investment.
  • Assist the Test Lead in identifying and implementing opportunities for automated regression testing using Playwright or similar automation tools.
  • Drive adoption of AI capabilities within the team by identifying use cases where AI can improve productivity, quality, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Assess, pilot, and recommend AI and automation tools that support business and IT objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to team members on automation and AI best practices.
  • Research emerging automation and AI technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation solutions and AI-enabled processes.
  • Collaborate with development, testing, operations, and business teams to ensure automation solutions align with organizational goals and standards.
  • Embrace and promote the adoption of AI technologies across reporting, data, automation, and application support processes by continuously evaluating where AI can be applied to improve efficiency, productivity, decision-making, user experience, and business outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant IT experience, including experience designing and implementing automation solutions.
  • Proven experience with workflow automation platforms such as Power Automate, Amazon Quick Automate, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and process orchestration technologies.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools such as Playwright is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate automation opportunities based on business value and return on investment.
  • Experience engaging with business stakeholders and facilitating workshops or process discovery sessions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex automation initiatives.
  • Experience assessing and improving business processes through automation and technology adoption.
  • Demonstrated interest in AI technologies and a willingness to identify, evaluate, and adopt AI capabilities that enhance business processes, reporting solutions, automation, and software delivery practices.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools, generative AI platforms, or enterprise AI solutions.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing AI use cases to improve business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of software development practices and DevOps principles.
  • Experience with backend scripting, APIs, integrations, and workflow orchestration.
  • Experience with C# development is a plus
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including work item management, pipelines, test plans, and release processes, is a plus.
  • Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) platforms is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in automation, AI, cloud technologies, or software engineering are a plus.
  • Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
