Your role.

Job Summary

Audit Senior professionals will supervise engagements and assume full responsibility for all phases of an audit including planning, control analysis and testing, substantive procedures, identify and assist in the resolution of client issues and reporting. By conducting objective diagnostic tests and analytical reviews, the Auditor is responsible for the verification of a company's financial records by following Generally Accepted Auditing Principles.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Technical Responsibilities

    • Perform all phases of an audit, including planning and risk identification, internal control review and testing, substantive audit procedures, engagement wrap up, and financial statement preparation/review

    • Perform other attest services including compilations and reviews

    • Research and conclude on various accounting and audit issues in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)

    • Generate ideas for accounting process improvements and best practices for our clients

  • Relationship Building

    • Participate in internal networking events, collaborate and work directly with other internal colleagues and external client staff.

    • Contribute to business expansion efforts including proposal development (scoping, budget, etc.)

    • Supervise and develop a team of 1-2 audit staff on each engagement

  • Firm Contributions

    • Participate in periodic industry and service line training programs which focus on development of core competencies to facilitate your growth at the firm

    • Opportunities to be involved in various internal practice initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required

  • CA and/or US CPA preferred with the expectation that US CPA will be obtained

Experience:

  • 2-5 years recent experience in public accounting with experience in one or more of the following industries:  benefit plan, real estate/HUD, single audit and investment funds

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and audit software

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills

  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IND AS, or IFRS accounting standards and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems

  • Principles of supervision and project management

  • Think analytically to respond to complex inquiries

  • Understand and apply audit theories and procedures

  • Ability to identify and resolve audit issues

  • Assist in the efforts to manage day to day activities of the engagement and effectively meet and exceed the client needs and expectations

  • Enjoy complex and challenging project work and willing to work on a variety of strategic, financial, and operational projects

  • Highly motivated and take ownership of personal and professional growth and development

  • Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to successfully interact with clients and other professionals to effectively deliver quality professional services to clients

  • Client service orientation combined with creative problem solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with independent responsibilities

  • Note: Position requires some Saturday work hours during busy season.
