We are seeking highly motivated and independent professionals to join our Audit team for Mazars in Japan. The Audit Associate / Senior will work closely with team members on various sizes of audit engagements, including planning, performing, reviewing, and conducting the engagement. He/she works closely with team members to execute the audit plan and ensures the timely completion and delivery of high-quality audits in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards. This position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Identify and analyse the client’s business, key risks, and impact of changing business environment
- Implement and provide input to engagement plan
- Execute assigned engagement tasks in compliance with the engagement plans and professional standards
- Utilize appropriate technology and tools to extract sufficient data for performing engagement procedures
- Identify and propose resolutions to significant accounting and auditing issues
- Review information accompanying the assurance report in accordance with applicable framework
- Identify areas for personal development to improve work performance
- Facilitate effective communication within the cross functional and culturally diverse teams
- Seniors are expected to coach junior team members to achieve technical competency and efficient performance
- Maintain independence by ensuring code of professional conduct and ethics
- Application of IFRS and IAS Standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 1 year of audit experience for Associate and 3 years of audit experience for Senior
- Experience in the application of IFRS and IAS standards to a proficient level
- Highly proficient in English language and possess good communication skills
- Ability to write and converse in Japanese is preferred.
- Candidate with JLPT certificate will be an added advantage.
- Commendable analytic, technical, and interpersonal skills with a high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
