Location: Must reside in Arizona (no exceptions). Candidates living in the following cities are strongly preferred but not required: Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Glendale, Gilbert, and Tempe.

Position Overview

The Audit Associate will assist in performing audits of governmental clients under the guidance of senior team members. You’ll gain valuable experience in public sector accounting, learn auditing techniques, and work alongside experienced professionals who are committed to your growth and development.

This is an excellent role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to learn in a supportive environment that values teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing audits of governmental clients following Government Auditing Standards.

  • Learn and apply current accounting principles and auditing techniques.

  • Help prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management letters.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Communicate progress and findings clearly with team members.

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.

  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to build your skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

  • 0–2 years of accounting or audit experience (internships or part-time experience a plus).

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Effective communicator and team player with a positive attitude.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.

  • Interested in pursuing and obtaining their CPA license in the future

Hours: Operates on Mountain Standard Time (MST)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive starting salary range: $55K – $65K annually, commensurate with education and experience.
