Zen-Noh Grain Corporation (ZGC) was formed in 1979 to accomplish the goal of establishing a safe and stable supply of U.S. corn, milo, soybeans, and other U.S. food supplies. ZGC is a U.S. subsidiary of ZEN-NOH, the largest agricultural cooperative association in Japan. We operate a grain and oilseed export terminal in Convent, Louisiana, which is the highest-handle grain export terminal in the U.S. In recent years, we have expanded our grain origination and export footprint with joint ventures in Brazil, Canada and Hong Kong. In addition to grain trading, we operate a forage processing and export business headquartered in Washington.
This job is primarily responsible and accountable for providing assurance to organization management and shareholders that all business functions comply with applicable laws and organization policies.
In this job, you will:
- Conduct multi-focus and program-specific compliance and internal control audits of all business units and functions, review and evaluate compliance with applicable policies and adequacy/effectiveness of internal controls; and prepare audit plans and reports.
- Support customer risk assessment program.
- Respond to customer Know Your Customer (KYC) requests.
- Review and comment on form agreements, and draft simple form agreements under the direction of counsel.
- Support business unit compliance functions as needed.
- Support M &A due diligence activities.
- Develop and maintain functional expertise as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Here’s what you’ll need to be considered:
Education
Required - Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience
Required – 3 years’ experience in a compliance, audit, quality assurance/control or related role.
Preferred – 5 years’ experience in compliance, audit, quality assurance/control or related roles within a commodities handling and marketing industry.
License/Certification
Required – Currently hold or have ability to obtain Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCDP) certification.
Preferred - Louisiana Certified Paralegal (or equivalent)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of grain trading and logistics practices.
- Knowledge of grain trading and logistics practices.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and contracting.
- Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other programs applicable to perform the job (GEM).
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Ability to research, comprehend and effectively communicate items pertaining to the applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to organize and effectively communicate audit results and compliance requirements to line- and management employees

Physical Demands & Requirements
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop and kneel, occasionally.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. May be required to use personal protective equipment.
