JOB OVERVIEW
The Accountant will support the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer in managing the financial operations of both the management company and fund entities. This role will handle general accounting, financial reporting, and compliance while also assisting with fund administration, budgeting, and cash management functions. Key Responsibilities
Management Company Accounting
· Process weekly bank and credit card reconciliations, follow up regularly with the team on outstanding receipts.
· Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations and month-end journals for the management companies.
· Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts
· Perform AP and AR functions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
· Process payroll, superannuation, and other related payroll activities
· Maintain accurate records and support internal financial controls, budgeting and cash flow management.
· Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements including BAS, financial statements and tax return
Fund Accounting and Administration
· Work with the external fund administrator on fund accounting, investor reporting and fund administration matters.
· Review fund trial balances, general ledgers, investor capital accounts and quarterly reporting packs.
· Assist with capital calls, distributions, management fees, NAV reporting, IRR reporting and investor allocations.
· Assist with fund accounting entries for investments, expenses, capital movements and distributions.
· Support fund bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations and investor capital balance reviews.
Audit, Tax and Compliance Support
· Assist with year-end financial statements, audit schedules and auditor queries for the management companies and funds.
· Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, fund administrators and other professional service providers.
· Maintain finance and compliance documentation and support regulatory reporting where required.
Investor and Internal Reporting Support
· Support the Financial Controller, CFO and investment team with quarterly reporting, portfolio valuation support and financial analysis.
· Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes, reconciliations and reporting workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS
· CA or CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
·Experience in accounting, finance or fund operations, ideally within investment management, venture capital, private equity or financial services.
· Fund accounting experience is highly advantageous.
· Experience reviewing capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, management fees, NAV reporting or fund financial statements is preferred.
· Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and confidence working with financial data.
· Able to work independently in a flexible or remote working environment while managing deadlines around month-end, quarter-end and audit periods
Skills Required
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards qualification
