JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking accounting firm that works exclusively with Xero. As a valued member of our team, you’ll need strong English communication skills—both written and verbal—and a proactive approach to your work.
This role offers the potential to take ownership of your own client portfolio and manage your daily workflow independently. Training will be provided across all aspects of the position, with clear opportunities for growth and career progression for the right candidate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Xero account coding & bank reconciliation for a small portfolio of bookkeeping clients
- Processing of payroll through Xero – including adding new staff, bonuses, benefits, etc.
- BAS / IAS preparation
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet items such as GST, wages payable, superannuation payable, ATO accounts etc
- Preparation and review of management accounts pack from Xero - monthly and quarterly
- End-of-year payroll reporting
- Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
- Preparation of annual financial statements for partnerships, trusts and companies
- Proactively raise potential risks for clients and the business based on data and observations from checks performed and provide recommendations to management to mitigate impacts
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free work
- Any task deemed necessary by the Team Manager or Service Delivery Manager
- Should be a graduate of Finance and or Accounting
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Product Knowledge
- Complete knowledge of client accounts and businesses
- General AU Accounting experience with solid background – Bookkeeping experience a plus
- 1-2 years or more of experience in Australian accounts
- Knowledge of Australian Taxation and Compliance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word & Excel
- Solid IT knowledge and a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and navigate new technologies
- Ability to deliver high-quality work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
