Overview of the role
The overall objective as AU Accountant is to become indispensable to our clients by providing them with high-quality work by paying close attention to detail, providing a quick turnaround for completion of tasks and being proactive and responsive to client requirements.
Main duties include:
- Assist Accounting Team in handling communications with clients and vendors such as sending out invoices, bills, statements, tax documents, email
- Reminders, document requests, and follow-ups.
- Track, record and maintain clients and vendors profiles. • Perform document filing, collation, and data entry.
- Create invoices, bills, and process payments.
- Assist Accounting Team in processing, preparing and maintaining accounts receivable and payable records.
- Perform reconciliation of bank accounts and other financial transactions.
- Assist the Accounting Team in preparing clients’ payroll.
- Record journal entries, review spreadsheets and ledgers and other financial reports for accuracy.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements
- Create associated working papers
- Assist the Accounting Team to maintain fixed assets.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience as an Accountant with Australian based companies
- Advanced Xero knowledge (minimum 2 years’ experience)
- Strong experience with Australian Payroll - IMPORTANT
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Skilled in Excel
- Experience with HubDoc or Dext
- Understanding of accruals and prepayments
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good knowledge of Australian taxation (GST)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Current Xero Advisor Certification required
- Current Xero Payroll Certification required

Skills Required
