Position Summary:

The Attorney is responsible for providing legal support within the Legal Department by handling assigned matters and contributing in a designated area of legal focus. This role assists in managing legal tasks, projects, and issues as directed by the head of the Legal Department or their designees, ensuring effective support for the organization’s legal needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and prepare clear, thorough memos and related documentation.
  • Monitor and stay informed on legal issues relevant to assigned practice areas and jurisdictions.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the company and its subsidiaries on general matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to support business operations.
  • Support compliance with laws and regulations applicable to automotive finance, leasing, and lending activities.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel as directed, without authority to hire counsel absent direction from the head of the department.
  • Represent the company in legal matters, as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality due to regular access to specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
  • Other duties may be assigned and responsibilities may change.

Required Experience:

  • Active license to practice law in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to draft, review, and edit legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
  • Professional integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to the office in Atlanta, GA.

Work Schedule This position is a hybrid role, requiring in-office presence 1-2 days per week. The role also requires flexibility to work various shifts to meet business needs, typically between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as needed. Travel requirements are estimated at 0–10%
