A person in this role supports student-athletes by positively impacting their collegiate experience, retention, persistence and graduation. The employee will serve as the Athletic Academic Coordinator for assigned Olympic sports. In addition, they will assist with the coordination of the RamLife Program (student-athlete development) supporting students' career, community service and leadership aspirations.

Academic Coordinator for a caseload of student-athletes and assigned Olympic
Sports.
- Evaluate academic risk levels and develops academic and graduation plans for
student-athletes and monitor their academic progress in accordance with NCAA,
conference and University requirements. - Meet with individual students and maintaining accurate and complete individual
files. - Implement learning strategies to improve students’ academic performance.
RamLife Coordinator.
- Evaluate the needs of student-athletes in the areas of career development, financial wellness, leadership development and community service. Coordinate programming in collaboration with Athletic department partners to meet those needs.
- Advise Student-Athlete Advising Committee (SAAC).
- Serve as primary contact for other identified programming for student-athletes.
Supervision:
- This position will supervise student employees or interns who assist with RamLife programming.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in higher education, academic advising or Student-Athlete Support Services.
- OR Master’s degree in area of counseling, student affairs/services, education or sports management, or related field and at least 1 year of experience working in higher education.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
- Excellent written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the holistic development of intercollegiate student-athletes.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules relating to academic and eligibility standards.
- Knowledge of NCAA initial and continuing eligibility rules.
- Proven ability to relate well with students, coaches and university staff.
- Effective management, administrative and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across the University.
- Knowledge of and experience working with computerized student records.
- Ability to learn quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
