The Asst Manager – Sales is responsible for the daily maintenance of the Account, works with Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to create and implement strategies for maximizing current business and obtaining new business at the assigned OEM(s). Takes a leadership role in coordination of new business quotations. He is also responsible for being the team lead as well as individual contributor in the sales activities of the region. Has knowledge of the organization, the business, sales and customer behaviour. Participates in the development and implementation of the sales, customer strategies and staffing model and owns the accountability for growth and profitability of business and customer satisfaction and ensure the business database is accurate and reflects current and future sales opportunities.
- Conducts pricing and other contractual negotiations at customers.
- Takes ownership of total customer satisfaction, monitoring our performance on key supplier metrics and pursuing corrective action plans as appropriate.
- Provides meaningful short and long-range customer/product sales forecasts.
- Maintains direct contact with customers as key liaison for all company activities.
- Assures proper product performance and service support is provided to customer.
- Coordinates and assist engineering in application of company products to customers’ needs.
- Ensures that the business tracking database is properly maintained.
- Develops (with input from cross-functional teams) and deploys comprehensive customer strategies that improve the profitability and growth.
- Articulates a clear understanding of our market share, competitive position, and profitability at each assigned account.
- Works in conjunction with sales management to deploy comprehensive pricing strategies which are market driven, based on value provided the customer and competitive alternatives.
- Develops and deploys the customer interface strategy (points of contact, frequency) and builds strong rapport with key decision makers, developing coaches and sponsors as necessary.
- Develops proactive new business opportunity (NBO) plans, tracking and recording progress toward sales objectives.
- Monitors market dynamics, including customer and competitor developments and funnels relevant information to the appropriate sales management for consolidation in our market sensing process.
- Maintains awareness of and reports on competitor’s activities, personnel, strengths and weaknesses at assigned accounts.
- Provides global coordination on customer issues where required.
- Follows up on customer compliance with company order, pricing and credit policies.
- Facilitates company inter-functional cooperation and communication.
- Maintains complete and current customer account files and sales records.
- Represent the business unit in a professional, positive manner.
- Documents activity through adequate oral and written reports.
- Adheres to prescribed policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Organizing & Scheduling of special projects such as auto expos, tech shows, etc.
- Preparation of informational material to media representatives and agencies
