Job Summary
As an Associate Editor at Flighthouse, you’ll help bring bold creative ideas to life through editing and post-production. You’ll edit short-form social content — primarily TikToks and Reels — that aligns with platform trends, creative direction, and client goals. Working closely with producers, designers, and creative leads, you’ll transform raw footage into highly shareable, platform-native video content that feels authentically Flighthouse.
This role is ideal for a motivated, early-career editor who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and wants to grow quickly in the world of social-first entertainment. You’ll develop your craft while editing content that shapes how Gen Z connects with movies, shows, and brands online.
Responsibilities
- Edit and deliver short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts that aligns with brand and client goals.
- Execute creative direction from producers and brand managers while maintaining a distinct editorial voice and attention to detail.
- Apply color correction, audio balancing, and finishing touches to ensure polished final exports.
- Incorporate notes quickly and thoughtfully, offering creative alternatives where helpful.
- Stay organized across multiple projects, managing version control, file structures, and delivery schedules within Flighthouse’s established production workflow.
- Collaborate closely with producers and account managers to ensure efficient communication and smooth handoffs.
- Stay current on entertainment, pop culture, and editing trends shaping TikTok and Gen Z storytelling
- Troubleshoot post-production challenges and recommend workflow improvements.

Qualifications
- Must submit a portfolio or reel showcasing previous short-form or social editing work
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and familiarity with post-production workflows.
- Familiarity with After Effects and Photoshop is a plus.
- Strong storytelling instincts with a feel for comedic timing, pacing, and rhythm native to TikTok.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and self-manage.
- Passion for film, television, and entertainment culture, with an understanding of what excites audiences online.
- Broad understanding of what performs on social media, with the ability to adapt your editing style across a range of content — from UGC and lo-fi formats to more polished, high-production pieces.
Pay Scale
- $ 19.23 - $22.00/ per hour
- The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
