Job Description
Primary functions and essential responsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
- Supervise and develop staff with demonstrated ability to work with others through challenges and career development while providing ongoing training and feedback
- Perform detailed review of quarterly investment report valuations including valuation gains and losses
- Prepare or review of journal entries and the quarterly close processes, including producing original workpapers and analyses
- Prepare and review and financial statements for complex fund vehicles including waterfall allocations
- Coordinate cash management with accounting team
- Prepare or review investor capital call and distribution calculations
- Draft and coordinate the fund amendment and extension consent process
- Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner reporting, analysis and other requests
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure audit deadlines are met
Education: CPA recommended, B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CFA a plus
Experience Required: 6-9 years of experience working at Private Equity or Private Real Estate firm strongly desired, with at least 5+ total years of related financial experience, which may include public accounting
General Requirements:
- Working understanding of “waterfall” allocations
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, eFront Software and reporting skills a plus
- Solid management team skills including staff development
- Strong relationship building skills with internal business clients
- Strong management skills, including proven experience of managing and/or collaborating with teams in remote locations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach.
- Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player
