Synopsis of the role 

AVP – Sales (Fintech) will be responsible for Sales & Business Development for the South Fintech vertical in Equifax. Will be responsible for primary direct customer/client contact to acquire new business or develop existing business and/or accounts. Closing sales of products and/or services in order to meet individual/team quotas and the organization’s business objectives. Operates as the primary point of contact to the customer or partner for the purpose of the sale by delivering sales presentations, developing bids, responding to proposals and negotiating final terms and contracts. 

What you’ll do

  • Will be responsible for Sales, Business Development, New Logo Acquisition for Equifax.

  • Responsible for Consultative Solutions Sales, Relationship and Account Management.

  • Responsible for dealing with moderately complex customer environments that often result in solutions requiring medium to long sales cycles.

  • Responsible for becoming an operational sales leader of professional level sales executives who perform as individual contributors in selling across a vertical, territory, region or country.

  • Responsible for executing against sales strategies by driving team success and is held accountable for the results of the team.

  • Getting New clients and implementation of Share of Wallet strategy.

  • Lead by example along with exceptional supervisory management skills

  • Responsible for selection, development and retention of a driven sales team of professionals.

  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors focused on a narrow range of work within a function.

  • Responsible for the performance and results of the team including timely collections and other sales related activities

  • Responsible for identifying and resolving technical, operational and/or organization problems. 

  • Responsible for making decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from manager.

  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.

  • Responsible for developing plans and coordinating with resources to meet operational objectives within the area of responsibility.

  • Motivate the sales teams to achieve their goals.

  • Review customer activity, anticipate consumer needs and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Provide detailed sales forecasting, set quarterly and annual sales goals.

What experience you need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred.

  • Proven work experience of 10-14 years in NBFC/Fintech/Banking/Bureau sales or similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques.

  • Experience in the Bureau or its affiliated partners will be given preference.

  • Should have exposure to B2B sales in the recent experiences.

  • Should have led a successful team management role for the last 6 to 8 years with minimal attrition.

  • Fluency in local languages is prerequisite.

  • Should have a proven track record of exceeding targets.

  • Strong working knowledge of the company’s products, competitive products and the market.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking skills.

  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of best sales practices and methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to increase sales and penetrate new markets.

  • Ability to negotiate and bring deals to closure.
