This Position reports to:
Principal EngineerYour role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business for Bangalore.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Deliver code assessment and analysis to determine compliance with OSS licenses
- Support legal and product teams in their mitigation efforts
- Enhance the toolchain to increase automation
- Act as a consultant in OSS-related matters for ABB teams world-wide
- Keep current with the state of the art of open source and technology trends.
Qualification for the role :
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Open Source Analysis / SCA / License Compliance
- At least 4+ years of hands-on experience with Black Duck (or equivalent SCA tools)
- Experience analysing 100+ projects independently using SCA tools
- Strong working knowledge of Black Duck / API integrations
- Strong understanding of open-source licenses (GPL, LGPL, Apache, MIT, etc.) and compliance implications
- Bachelor or Master degree (preferably in Software Engineering / Computer Science)
- Solid understanding of software development principles, particularly in C/C++/Java ecosystems
- Hands-on development experience in Java (or similar language)
- Ability to review, analyze, and understand complex source codebases
- Experience with SBOM concepts (CycloneDX, SPDX) and vulnerability management
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data from multiple sources.
