Job Summary: This position will provide design support for product development in the field of HVAC and Refrigeration products for Trane Technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Support Design Engineering projects independently. Take project ownership and collaborate with other design team members to deliver the project expectations.
- Strong focus on sheet metal part design, plastic part design, and tubing design. Prepare concept designs, and detailed drawings as required.
- Idea generation and Feasibility study on VAVE projects.
- Reverse engineering capability and support teardown activities
- Prepare/maintenance of Engineering documentation, bill of material and change notices through Teamcenter and windchill.
- Collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams and project partners.
- Provides design support for current production parts and products.
- Create and develop DFMEA and DVPN&R.
- Commit to deliver 100% QDC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8-12 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
Key Competencies:
- Hands on experience in Creo, Teamcenter and Wind-chill
- Work experience on NPD / VAVE / QnR / Sustenance projects.
- Hands on experience on sheet metal, tubing, plastics, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of sheet metal drafting rules and principals (ASME Y14.5M)
- Good knowledge and application of Tolerance stack up and analysis.
- Hands on experience in DFMEA and DVPN&R is preferred.
- Good knowledge on PLM activities.
- HVAC/Refrigeration domain experience is preferred.
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills and knowledge on MS Office tools.
- Ability to manage Design/Drawing/Project level Reviews with global cross functional teams.
- Must be able to adjust changing demands, priorities, and objectives.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities of reported issues.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Project management skills.
