About the role
We are looking for a talented candidate to join the India office of DESRI, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Tax team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
The candidate is expected to work on tax compliance for existing and new renewable energy projects across multiple U.S. states and related corporate entities .The candidate is expected to liaise cross-functionally to support the tax team in formulating, analyzing, monitoring, and implementing tax strategy, compliance, and finance management for direct and indirect taxes. The candidate will get opportunity to support tax modeling and a range of accounting, management, and investor reporting activities. The candidate will get opportunity to prepare and analyze partnership accounting, Hypothetical Liquidation at Book Value (HLBV) models, yield tracking, and budget-versus-actual analyses . The candidate is expected to coordinate with U.S. and Hyderabad based deal teams, asset management, treasury, tax teams, external consultants, and tax authorities on tax-related matters. The candidate is expected to compute various state tax liabilities, process tax payments, and respond to state tax notices on a periodic basis. The candidate will get opportunity to contribute to initiatives focused on establishing, standardizing, optimizing, and documenting tax processes, workflows, and internal controls.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
− Candidate should be a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) with 0 - 24 months of experience
− Candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to take initiative with limited direction and guidance
− Candidate should possess excellent written and spoken communication skills, and an ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
− Experience in U.S. taxation
