Job Description
- Lead the assessment, scoping, estimation and implementation of projects ranging from medium to complex requirements, breaking down development tasks, identifying dependencies/technical risks and execution.
- Lead site migration projects to WordPress from planning, risk assessment and execution.
- Architect WordPress theme frameworks, WordPress website redesigns, and other custom WordPress work.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze needs, and define project objectives.
- Develop custom themes and plugins to extend WordPress functionality based on business requirements.
- Ensure website is optimized in terms of speed and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
- Implement security best practices to protect websites from vulnerabilities and threats.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our web development processes.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring seamless website operation across different browsers and devices.
- Perform website maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and optimization.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing WordPress Sites
- Experience with WordPress as a CMS, with expertise in developing custom themes
- Experience with site migrations to WordPress from other platforms like Wix, Drupal, Joomla, Squarespace, Shopify
- Extensive experience with WordPress WooCommerce
- Experience with SEO implementation
- Experience with building WordPress LMS sites
- Experience with site deployments to Hosting Platforms or Managed WordPress Platforms. Experience with Wordpress.com is a plus.
- Proficient in PHP (PHP framework knowledge is a plus)
- Proficient in MySQL
- Excellent front-end skills (HTML, JS, CSS, Bootstrap)
- Able to convert designs (from Adobe PS, Adobe XD, Figma) to responsive templates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experienced in interacting with offshore clients
- Can manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven team environment
- Amenable to Monday - Friday; 9:00 am – 6:00 pm working schedule
