Associate Staff Accountant

Position OverviewKeep our communities fed.
Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices — every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Associate Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for providing customer service, preparing financial statements and analyzing bookwork and other financial documents on a weekly basis for retail locations. You will also be responsible for reconciling tax returns, bank statements, and store purchases and expenses.

Job Description

• Full Time, On-Site Role

• Location: 2215 Union Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081

You will contribute by:

• Preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and gross profit reports for retail locations, and reconciling balance sheet accounts with external reports.

• Gathering, auditing, and analyzing supporting documents and other financial records to post into the general ledger on a weekly basis.

• Preparing and filing monthly sales tax returns, and compiling weekly sales and payroll data for franchisees.

• Providing customer service to franchisee owners and management by researching and resolving financial questions or issues.

• Reconciling monthly bank statements.

• Reviewing franchisee store purchases and expenses for proper authorization and coding.

• Processing, filing, and paying payroll taxes and withholdings.

• Recording fixed assets in accordance with each franchisee’s capitalization policy.

We’re searching for candidates with:

• Essential computer knowledge

• Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite

• A solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts

• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to work both independently and efficiently within a team

• 0-2 years of relevant experience

Environment:

• Office : Office Temperature (65F to 75F)
