OVERVIEW:
The Associate Sourcing & Product Development Manager oversees the product development process for a particular category or categories within a brand(s) and supports the greater product development process for their brand(s). Supports manager in setting a brand focused global sourcing strategy by communicating business need for area(s) of responsibility and ensures execution. The associate manager tracks global fabric development as well as production of the brand’s product in the Americas, including Central America, South America, Mexico, Caribbean and the US Domestic market.

Responsible for executing the brand’s global sourcing strategy for area(s) of responsibility. Participates in milestone meetings, line reviews to understand business needs for category and supports greater product development process. Identifies opportunities to enhance efficiencies in the product development process. Understands factory competency for brand. Evaluates if business needs are being met by supplier matrix and communicates to manager. Supports manager on seasonal brand matrix process.

Monitors and communicates the category’s sample & fabric/trim development and approval process to ensure on time sample delivery. Responsible for all aspects of any CA factory production to ensure timely delivery of the category’s products.

May utilize component costing skills for category/initial costing and ensures cost and margin targets are met or beat.

Track’s WIP report of the brand’s production in the Americas according to timeline and elevates status/issues to manager.

Executes vendor projections by category/brand in partnership with product management. Primary party in managing Americas’ vendor relationships for category based upon the brand’s set sourcing strategy.
Influences decision making and supports any speed to market/flex & replenishment strategies with cross functional partners for the brand.
