JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll help design, develop, and deploy software solutions, including those that leverage AI and machine learning to improve internal efficiency, elevate customer experiences, and uncover new sales opportunities.
Build AI-powered tools and systems that automate workflows, personalise customer interactions, and optimise sales strategies.
Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.
Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support the integration of LLMs on Amazon Bedrock/Google Gemini with Astro’s internal systems.
Monitor system performance and suggest improvements based on data-driven insights.
Write clean, maintainable code, document technical designs, and participate in code reviews.
Use AWS cloud services such as Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch, ECS, and API Gateway.
Work with different types of databases like DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and ElastiCache depending on the needs of the project.
Use Bitbucket Pipelines to automate testing and deployment of code, helping deliver features faster and more reliably.
Collaborate with solution architects on system designs across Astro's Media & OTT technology stack.
REQUIREMENTS:
WHO YOU ARE:
BS/BA/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
6 months of internship or work experience in backend or full-stack development.
Proficient in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go).
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with APIs, backend systems, and data.
Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
A clear communicator who works well in cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Experience with AWS (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway) is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines) is a plus.
