We are hiring an Associate Software Engineer on the Facets Integration and Development team at BCBST!
In this role, you’ll be part of a core engineering team that directly impacts the claims processing pipeline by building and supporting applications that drive a high first‑pass claims processing rate. You’ll work primarily with C# and SQL Server, developing and enhancing extensions, batch jobs, and APIs to our Facets claims platform and maintaining deep integrations with external vendor and claims editing systems. This team plays a critical role in reducing the need for manual claims intervention and keeping claims flowing efficiently across the organization. As the team continues to evolve, you’ll also gain exposure to Angular, modern development practices, and the growing use of Copilot and AI‑enabled tools to streamline day‑to‑day work and improve development efficiency.
To be successful in this role, in addition to the core job requirements, you’ll bring solid foundational development skills and strong communication abilities. This is a small, highly collaborative team that supports many applications, so the ability to clearly communicate progress, issues, and ideas is essential. You will be a strong candidate for this role if you have experience with C# and SQL, can confidently read and contribute to existing code, and are familiar with Agile/Scrum practices. Experience with Angular, Azure DevOps (ADO) tools such as source control, pipelines, and storyboards, and an interest in modern development tooling will set you apart.

- This is a remote, work‑from‑home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on‑site in our Chattanooga, TN office.
- On‑call rotation is required after onboarding (typically 6–10 months in); one week every six weeks, 24/7 coverage.
