Role: Associate Software Engineer – Business Intelligence

Job Description
We are looking to hire an Associate Business Intelligence (BI) / Analytics Developer with excellent technical and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop functionality and enhancements. Associate BI Developer will also field and resolve usage issues and perform other duties as assigned, in line with the role's responsibilities and business requirements.
This role transcends organizational and geographical boundaries, supporting and enabling the various divisions of the MillerKnoll business across the globe. The ideal candidate understands the software development lifecycle and uses agile methodology to design, develop, test, and implement solutions that deliver on end-user needs.
Responsibilities
I.Designing, Developing and Deploying reports using Business Intelligence Technologies and Analytics tools
•Assist in developing logical and physical data models for Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse requirements.
•Perform table and interface design; develop logical/physical data models and databases; build ETL processes, BI reporting/OLAP cubes/OLAP reporting; populate databases, ETL processes, BI reports, and queries per business/user requirements.
•Design and analyze reports using Visual Studio, Report Designer, SSRS, and SSIS.
•Design and analyze reports using Power BI / Tableau. Knowledge on Matallion and / or Snowflakes is a plus.
•Design architecture for data warehouses, data marts, and BI reports supporting various data initiatives.
•Handle ETL design, development, and support of reporting tools and processes.
•Apply role-based access (security) to reports; integrate Active Directory with cube-based reports.
•Design and develop extremely reliable, scalable, and high-performing reports.
•Ensure code quality using code quality tools and frequent code reviews.
•Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot on-demand and scheduled BI reports.
•Ensure proper source code management of reports, stored procedures, and database definitions.
•Support and advise other development team members on best use of SSRS and other visualization tools.
•Work with cloud data warehouse and analytics tools.
Essential experience
▪Demonstrated experience with report visualization tools such as SSRS, Power BI, and Tableau.
▪Demonstrated experience with cloud data warehouse technology.
▪Ability to troubleshoot technical and functional problems using intuitive problem-solving techniques.
▪Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data warehousing is a must.
▪Sound understanding of data warehouse design and best practices
Ideal candidate
•Graduate / postgraduate in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
•2–4 years of hands-on BI development experience with SQL Server Reporting, Integration and Analysis Services, Report Manager, and visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
•Good to have understanding of AI tools, machine learning concepts, and predictive modeling methodologies.
•Strong experience with parameterization, performance optimization, and hands-on Transact-SQL.
•Solid data modeling experience.
•Ability to work individually or within a team environment.
•Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a healthy work environment.
•Proficient in documentation, process, and workflow design.
•Good to have Command of version control methodologies, preferably Git / Bitbucket.
•Ability to take direction and constructive criticism, and work to specified deadlines.
•Adherence to processes and procedures defined for the role, team, and organization
•Certified in one or more core technology areas of work
This role will work in the UK shift timings 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. or Asia shift timings 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. IST. The employees could be requested to work in a different shift on rare occasions to support the business during a critical issue or for any releases/migrations that maybe scheduled. Location of work is Bangalore, India. Initial 6 months, until successful completion of probation period, employees will work from office on all 5 days and then transition to hybrid working model.
Reporting structure
•Locally reporting to Working Team Lead (WTL) in India.
•Matrix reporting to WTL/Manager in UK.
