The Opportunity
We are currently on the lookout for an Associate Software Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java Spring Boot, React, and Redux.
Develop and optimize solutions leveraging relational databases and industry-standard data modeling practices.
Design and implement cloud-native applications and services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Define and enforce development standards, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
Evaluate and recommend technology choices, frameworks, and tools.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver business objectives.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, and frontend applications following modern development practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues across the application stack.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality guidelines.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including application designs, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on Java, React, database, and AWS-related technologies.
Create clear and comprehensive architecture documentation.
Communicate technical concepts and solution designs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
A first degree in Computer Science from a recognized foreign or local university; a relevant master’s degree will be an added qualification.
A minimum of ten years of work experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Must be a hands-on technical leader who can effectively balance architectural responsibilities with active involvement in design, coding, debugging, and implementation activities.
Extensive hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Java (Java 17+), Spring Boot, React, Redux, relational databases, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong understanding of modern application architecture and cloud-native development practices.
Proficiency in designing and implementing microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and caching solutions.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Knowledge of application security, performance tuning, and DevSecOps practices.
Excellent leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to clearly propose and articulate architecture and technology decisions.
