Associate Senior Software Engineer

Essential Functions

Understand product and business requirements and convert them into reporting and dashboard solutions. Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for business and operational analytics. Build and optimize data models, calculated fields, and reusable reporting components in Tableau. Develop and validate SQL queries, views, and datasets to ensure accurate and reliable reporting outputs. Execute unit test scenarios, document results, and support defect tracking and resolution. Troubleshoot report/data issues and coordinate with upstream/downstream teams for fixes. Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and visualization standards. Work closely with application development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to support automation and release readiness. Support regression testing of BI/analytics applications in cloud environments. Deliver high-quality solutions in an Agile/Scrum, team-oriented environment with frequent releases. Contribute to non-functional quality improvements, including performance, security, and responsive design. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills / Technical Knowledge

4 to 6 years of BI development experience using visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker. Strong hands-on expertise in Tableau development, including dashboards, stories, parameters, filters, LOD expressions, and performance optimization. Extensive SQL expertise for data querying, dataset validation, and creation of views/tables/functions. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and analytics data models. Exposure to cloud platforms is required, with working experience in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Datastore preferred. Experience with AWS cloud services. Hands-on experience with Snowflake for analytics and reporting workloads. Experience with engineering/collaboration tools such as GitHub, Rally, Jira, Confluence, and VSTS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments. Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative teams with aggressive timelines and regular releases.

Good to Have

Advanced Python scripting skills. Expertise in additional BI tools. Understanding of payment domain workflows and data. Basic exposure to AI/ML concepts and analytics use cases.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or another technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
