Job Description

Ares Secondaries has more than 150 professionals across six offices in New York, Boston, Dallas, London, Hong Kong, and West Hartford, Connecticut.
The firm is currently looking for an associate to join our Infrastructure team in our Dallas office.
- Evaluate new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, researching industries and comparable companies, interviewing fund sponsors, and preparing financial models as part of an underwriting team
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on infrastructure limited partnership interests and their underlying company investments
- Develop a network of contacts in the infrastructure industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and fund sponsor annual meetings
- Prepare presentations to investors, firm partner group and counterparties
- Support deal team in transaction management, including negotiations with sellers and execution of closings
- Displays comfort in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty in dynamic and fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to research and leverage available resources to accomplish the task at hand
- Possesses good judgement and understanding when to solve issues independently vs. when to escalate to a senior team member
Education/Experience Required:
- 1-3 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity or principal investing, with infrastructure experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams, possessing initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent editorial and review skills
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
