The  Associate Scientist is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations and helping initiate, drive and sustain area improvement ideas. 

 

This position reports to the Senior Supervisor – Manufacturing Science and is part of the Manufacturing Science Molecular area located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be an on-site role.   

  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Support in the daily manufacturing operations of the newly transferred FISH probe portfolio to meet business OTD demands. 

  • Initiate and sustain area improvements and process changes. 

  • Utilise DBS fundamentals to drive change and implement lean manufacturing techniques within the manufacturing cell. 

  • Enable the successful integration of the FISH portfolio at LBS-NCL to meet site schedule attainment and OTD metrics. 

 

The essential requirements of the job include 

  • Scientific experience to degree level 

  • 1+ years experience working in scientific industry  

  • Experience working to GMP/GLP standards in producing Biological products and devices 

  • To have previous experience managing a sub-team or direct reports in a Science-based working environment. 

 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role 

  • N/A 

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • A strong quality mindset and previous experience operating within a quality driven department or QC/QA function.
