The Associate Scientist is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations and helping initiate, drive and sustain area improvement ideas.
This position reports to the Senior Supervisor – Manufacturing Science and is part of the Manufacturing Science Molecular area located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support in the daily manufacturing operations of the newly transferred FISH probe portfolio to meet business OTD demands.
Initiate and sustain area improvements and process changes.
Utilise DBS fundamentals to drive change and implement lean manufacturing techniques within the manufacturing cell.
Enable the successful integration of the FISH portfolio at LBS-NCL to meet site schedule attainment and OTD metrics.
The essential requirements of the job include
Scientific experience to degree level
1+ years experience working in scientific industry
Experience working to GMP/GLP standards in producing Biological products and devices
To have previous experience managing a sub-team or direct reports in a Science-based working environment.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
A strong quality mindset and previous experience operating within a quality driven department or QC/QA function.
