Associate Scientist

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Protein Development Group within Therapeutic Proteins, supporting therapeutic discovery and development programs by purifying and characterizing antibodies and other protein reagents. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment, using chromatography, analytical techniques, and automated equipment to deliver high-quality protein reagents and well-documented experimental data.

• Location: Tarrytown, NY
• Work model: On-site

• Purifies antibodies and other protein reagents using chromatography platforms and automated laboratory equipment
• Executes and optimizes purification workflows using affinity, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and size-exclusion chromatography
• Characterizes purified proteins using SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, analytical SEC, spectrophotometry, and related techniques
• Evaluates protein purity, concentration, recovery, aggregation, and overall sample quality
• Analyzes results and maintains accurate, timely experimental records in ELN and data recording systems
• Summarizes and presents purification and characterization data to managers, project teams, and scientific collaborators
• Troubleshoots technical challenges in collaboration with colleagues
• Manages multiple assignments and priorities while maintaining data quality and sample integrity

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline
• 0–2 years of relevant academic, internship, or industry laboratory experience in protein purification or characterization
• Hands-on experience with one or more purification techniques, such as affinity chromatography, IEX, HIC, or SEC
• Experience with one or more protein characterization techniques, such as HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, SEC, or spectrophotometry
• Ability to analyze experimental data and maintain accurate electronic laboratory records
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience purifying monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, or other complex protein formats
• Experience using ÄKTA chromatography systems
• Familiarity with automated purification or sample-processing equipment and experience working in a high-throughput or project-driven laboratory environment
• Familiarity with basic programming or scripting (e.g., Python or R) and an interest in applying computational tools to scientific data analysis and laboratory workflow improvement
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
