The Associate Scientist I plays a hands‑on role in analytical method development, supporting the testing and characterization of mRNA drug substance and drug product. Through assay development and execution, this role directly contributes to advancing innovative cell and gene therapies.
This position reports to the Senior Scientist, R&D and is part of the Analytical Method Development team located in Fargo, ND and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Carry out laboratory experimentation in support of analytical method development and process development plans for novel nucleic acid drug substances and products.
- Record data following ALCOA+ and create project summary reports and presenting findings and recommendations to the team.
- Author and review SOPs for novel analytical methods.
- Participate in lab organization and maintain cleanliness and calibration statuses of equipment
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Hands on experience with operating capillary electrophoresis, HPLC and/or UPLC.
- Experience with chromatography data systems such as Chromeleon, Empower, OpenLab, Chemstation, etc.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as, sample preparation/extraction, enzymatic digestions, ELISA, PCR, etc.
- B.S. or B.A. degree in chemistry, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline and 0+ years experience.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 15lbs.
- Travel is not required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Operating and caring for mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Previous lab based experience working with mRNA, Plasmid, or other biomolecules.
- Analytical method development or student based research programs.
