Job DescriptionThe Associate Scientist, Data I supports the design, development, and deployment of data and analytics solutions that enable digital transformation across AbbVie Operations. This role works at the intersection of data science, data engineering, and manufacturing technology to help deliver scalable data products, AI solutions, and operational insights that drive efficiency, quality, and innovation. The position collaborates with business stakeholders, engineers, scientists, and technology teams to integrate data from diverse sources, develop analytics workflows, and support emerging technology initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, laboratories, and engineering functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and data products that support operational use cases.
- Collect, transform, and analyze data from manufacturing, laboratory, and enterprise systems.
- Support the development and deployment of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to define data requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Contribute to data quality, governance, and standardization efforts to ensure trusted and accessible data.
- Build dashboards, visualizations, and analytical tools that enable data-driven decision making.
- Participate in proof-of-concept, pilot, and innovation projects within the Emerging Technologies portfolio.
- Document technical solutions and follow established engineering and data management best practices.
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT, data modeling, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Interest in applying data and digital technologies to improve manufacturing, laboratory, and operational performance.
- Must be curious, collaborative, and passionate about leveraging data to solve complex operational challenges.
- Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and eager to learn emerging technologies that accelerate innovation across AbbVie Operations.
Preferred:
- Experience with Python, SQL, and data analytics tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning modelling, AI, or data visualization tools is preferred.
